Abuja, iNigeria s set to become the global centre of public relations and strategic communication as Nigeria prepares to host about 3,000 delegates from 126 countries at the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF).

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as the Chief Host of the international gathering, while Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema is expected to deliver the keynote address.

The week-long forum will bring together public relations practitioners, communication experts, policymakers, government officials and thought leaders from across the world to deliberate on emerging trends and challenges confronting the communication industry.

The 2026 WPRF is themed “Responsible Communication: The Voice of the World,” reflecting growing concerns over misinformation, declining public trust, rapid technological advancement and the need for greater ethical standards in public communication.

The forum is expected to provide a platform for global stakeholders to examine how responsible communication can strengthen governance, promote sustainable development and rebuild trust between institutions and citizens.

The participation of President Tinubu and President Hichilema is also expected to give the forum a strong African leadership dimension and reinforce Nigeria’s growing profile as a host of major international conferences and high-level policy engagements.

The event will equally provide Nigerian public relations and communication professionals with an opportunity to engage with counterparts from different parts of the world, exchange knowledge and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

Beyond the professional discussions, the gathering is expected to showcase Nigeria’s capacity to host major global events and place Abuja at the heart of international conversations on public relations, strategic communication and responsible leadership.

With delegates expected from 126 countries, the WPRF 2026 is poised to be one of the largest global gatherings of communication professionals on the continent, further positioning Nigeria as a major destination for international dialogue and professional exchange.
