Tinubu Administration Eliminated Over 13,000 Terrorists in One Year, Group Applauds Security Gains By Raymond Enoch

A pro-government advocacy group, the Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV), has commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as remarkable achievements in the fight against terrorism, claiming that more than 13,000 terrorists and violent criminals were eliminated within the last year.

The group said the development reflects the administration’s renewed commitment to restoring security across the country through enhanced military operations, improved intelligence gathering, and better welfare and equipment for the armed forces.

In a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, TMV noted that terrorism-related deaths have declined by 81 percent since 2023 following sustained military offensives against insurgent groups.

According to the group, about 17,000 suspected terrorists have also been arrested under the current administration, while more than 124,000 insurgents and their dependents have surrendered through Operation Safe Corridor, citing figures attributed to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

TMV further praised the government’s investment in military capacity, saying improved logistics, troop motivation, and expanded intelligence-led operations, including joint engagements with international partners, have strengthened Nigeria’s counter-terrorism campaign.

The group also highlighted recent operational successes by the Nigerian military, including the rescue of 337 kidnapped victims and the recovery of 4,105 rustled cattle in Benue, Nasarawa and Taraba States through the activities of the Joint Task Force, Operation Whirl Stroke.

It added that the Federal Government’s policy of offering terrorists an opportunity to surrender before facing full military action demonstrates a balanced approach that combines rehabilitation with decisive enforcement.

TMV expressed confidence that sustained investment in technology, intelligence and military operations would further weaken terrorist networks and improve security across Nigeria.
