ECOWAS Honours Departing Sahel Staff in a Grand Ceremony By Raymond Enoch
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission paid a glowing tribute to staff members from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, whose service with the regional body formally came to an end, marking a solemn yet dignified moment in the institution’s history.

Special recognition was accorded to personnel from the Alliance of Sahel States (AES)—Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger—whose contracts concluded on April 15, 2026.
