TCN Unveils Anti-Corruption Policy, Reinforces Zero Tolerance for Graft By Raymond Enoch
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), through its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), has unveiled its Anti-Corruption Policy Document as part of renewed efforts to strengthen ethical conduct, transparency, accountability and integrity across the organisation.
The policy document was unveiled on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the TCN Corporate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, bringing together management and staff in a renewed commitment to institutionalising ethical standards and promoting a culture of accountability.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of TCN, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the initiative as a significant step in reinforcing the company’s commitment to ethical standards and zero tolerance for corrupt practices.
Abdulaziz stressed that TCN’s credibility depends not only on the results it achieves but also on the manner in which those results are attained, urging members of staff to familiarise themselves with the provisions of the policy and allow its principles to guide their daily decisions and professional conduct.
He commended the TCN Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit and all stakeholders who contributed to the development of the document, noting that its purpose goes beyond preventing corruption to fostering an institutional culture anchored on honesty, fairness, accountability, transparency and professionalism.
The TCN helmsman therefore called on staff to support the effective implementation of the policy and consistently uphold its principles in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Chairman of ACTU, TCN, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling represented more than the formal presentation of a policy document, describing it as a demonstration of the collective commitment of management and staff to strengthening integrity, transparency and accountability within the company.
She observed that corruption weakens institutions, erodes public trust and leads to the wastage of valuable resources, stressing that its prevention requires the commitment and vigilance of every member of staff.
Also speaking, the representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, presented an overview of the policy and highlighted its importance in shaping institutional conduct, guiding decision-making and strengthening internal systems.
She explained that the policies provide a framework for preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to unethical and corrupt practices, while promoting greater accountability in the operations of the organisation.
The highlight of the occasion was the formal unveiling of the TCN Anti-Corruption Policy Document, marking what the participants described as an important step towards deepening ethical standards and strengthening institutional safeguards against corruption within the power transmission sector.
