Taraba State Government begins free vaccination of livestock’s.

Taraba State Government has flagged off the second phase of free anthrax vaccination of livestock’s in the State.

Speaking at the ceremony in Ardo-Kola and Lau Local Government Areas, Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security Professor Nicholas Namessan Oliver said the vaccines are free.

He thanked Governor Agbu Kefas for according priority to Agriculture in view of many achievements recorded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

Professor Oliver advised those rearing cattle to reciprocate the good intention of government by supporting Governor Agbu Kefas good initiatives to all farmers in the State.

The Commissioner explained that all the local government areas and the two special development areas of the State would benefit from the exercise.

He cautioned veterinary officers against selling of the anthrax vaccines in order not to undermine government genuine efforts.

“the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is poised to identify with farmers in line with the policies of Governor Agbu Kefas. he assured.

Commenting, Director Veterinary Services of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Doctor Nathan Rabiu Moses said Governor Agbu Kefas last year bought over two million doses of anthrax vaccines which was distributed to all local government areas of the State to mitigate the spread of anthrax virus.

He averred that the department of veterinary Services of the Ministry is ready to vaccinate all livestock’s in Taraba State.

Some headers who spoke at the ceremony, thanked Governor Agbu Kefas for his continuous support to all farmers in the state.

They pledged to tolerate one another for the interest of peace and development of their various communities.

The exercise continues today in Yorro LGA at 8a.m while in Karim Lamido LGA at 10a.m prompt.
