NEPZA, 20 Other MDAs Set to Join FG’s Revenue Optimisation Platform By Raymond Enoch

The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) and twenty other Federal Government agencies are set to integrate into the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform (RevOP) and the Federal Treasury e-Receipt (FTe-R) system as part of efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability and revenue monitoring across public institutions.

According to a press statement signed by Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEPZA, the commitment was reaffirmed following a high-level meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday between the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, and the chief executives of the affected agencies.

The move forms part of the Federal Government’s broader financial reform programme aimed at enhancing oversight of public revenues and expenditures. The Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform was approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to curb financial leakages, eliminate routine fraud and deepen transparency in government financial operations.

Speaking through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Muhammed Sanusi, the minister reminded agency heads that the platform was designed to provide a comprehensive framework for recording and monitoring government revenues and expenses in real time.

Oyedele disclosed that 31 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) had already been successfullyv integrated into the platform, while the next phase would bring an additional 21 agencies on board.

He explained that the government was working diligently to ensure complete financial accountability and transparency across all MDAs before the end of the year.

“We therefore wish to encourage each of you to, without delay, key into this lofty government initiative to boost financial due process on all fronts,” the minister stated.

NEPZA’s Managing Director, Dr. Ogunyemi, expressed the Authority’s readiness to fully comply with the new framework, noting that the agency already operates a robust digital financial management system capable of supporting seamless integration.

He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s drive for fiscal discipline and accountability, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening public confidence in government financial management.

“We are encouraged and feel responsible to follow the RevOP. It is especially motivating to observe the president taking clear leadership and responsibility for this vital financial monitoring system, which will help push the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda forward,” Ogunyemi said.

The planned onboarding of NEPZA and the additional agencies is expected to further consolidate the Federal Government’s efforts to build a transparent, technology-driven financial ecosystem capable of improving revenue assurance, reducing leakages and promoting prudent management of public resources.
