FRSC Launches Strategic Leadership Training for 305 Senior Officers Nationwide By Raymond Enoch

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commenced a nationwide strategic leadership training programme for 305 senior officers as part of efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, professionalism and service delivery across the Corps.

The week-long capacity-building programme, which began at the ICT Training Hall of the FRSC Headquarters in Abuja, brought together Chief Route Commanders (CRCs) and Assistant Corps Commanders (ACCs) from formations across the country, including the National Headquarters, Zone RS7 Abuja, RS7.1 FCT, RS7.2 Niger and their component Unit Commands.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on behalf of the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, the Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Training, Abiodun Akinlade, described the initiative as a critical step in the Corps’ ongoing institutional transformation agenda aimed at preparing senior officers for the evolving demands of modern road safety management.

He noted that contemporary traffic management requires more than conventional enforcement, stressing that officers occupying strategic leadership positions must possess adaptive leadership skills, emotional intelligence, sound operational judgment and stronger public engagement capacity.

According to him, the training was carefully designed to sharpen leadership competence, improve operational coordination, strengthen mentorship culture and reinforce ethical standards among senior officers who serve as the link between policy implementation and field operations.

Akinlade further stated that the programme forms part of a broader and sustained capacity development framework focused on institutionalising continuous learning and professional excellence across all cadres of the Corps.

“The Corps remains committed to building a highly professional leadership structure capable of delivering safer roads, improved command efficiency and better service delivery nationwide,” he said.

He commended the FRSC Training Department for conceptualising the initiative and also appreciated Ai-Protech Solutions for supporting the successful implementation of the programme.

At the end of the training, the Corps expects to produce a new generation of operational leaders equipped with the strategic mindset, leadership capacity and technical competence required to tackle emerging road safety challenges and strengthen nationwide operations.
