ECOWAS election observation mission arrives Ghana ahead of Dec, 7th 2024 Polls

The ECOWAS’s Election Observation Mission (EOM), led by former Nigerian Vice-President Namadi Sambo, has arrived in Accra ahead of Ghana’s Presidential Election on December 7.
Mr Sambo was welcomed by top officials, including Ambassador Abdel-Fatau Musah, ECOWAS Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security; and Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador Dayo Adeoye.
H.E. Mohammed Namadi Sambo, former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who is the head of the team has met with H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana, the Electoral Commission and Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (comprising of CSOs and NGOs) to assess the level of preparedness of the Elections .
The EOM, is part of ECOWAS’ commitment to promoting democracy and good governance, aims to support Ghana in ensuring a credible and transparent electoral process.
Dr .Omar Alieu Touray, President of the ECOWAS Commission, is overseeing the delegation’s efforts, reinforcing the region’s dedication to upholding electoral integrity in member-states.
