The ECOWAS Commission’s Department of Economic Affairs and Agriculture has held a successful three-day strategic retreat from April 7–9, 2025, at Zuma Rock, Niger State, Nigeria.

The retreat brought together the Commissioner, Mrs. Massandjé TOURE-LITSE, alongside Directors, technical experts, and staff from all Directorates and Specialised Agencies within the Department.
The goal was to assess progress, improve coordination, and set strategic priorities aligned with ECOWAS Vision 2050 and the 4×4 Strategic Objectives, which focus on governance, peace and security, economic integration, connectivity, and social inclusion.

Participants reviewed accomplishments from 2022 to 2024, evaluated work plans for 2025–2026, and discussed preparations for ECOWAS’s 50th Anniversary and the upcoming Summit of the Future. Sessions featured departmental activity reports, experience-sharing on best practices, and strategic discussions on coordination and resource mobilisation.
Key outcomes included stronger alignment with institutional goals, improved inter-directorate collaboration, and a renewed commitment to impactful regional integration and economic development.
