ACOE Elects First Executive Team, Vows to Raise Journalism Standard.

The Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE) has successfully elected its first substantive executive team to steer the association’s affairs over the next three years. The landmark election took place on May 30, 2025, at the FCT Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
A total of nine executive committee members were elected into key leadership positions of the Association. The elected committee were inaugurated immediately. They include:
Chairman: Omosola Akingboye
Vice Chairman: Khadijat Ameen
General Secretary: Queen Kunde
Assistant Secretary: Peace Ofeoshi
Treasurer: Lady Joy Odor
Financial Secretary: Augustine Ehikioya
Welfare Officer: Chidiebere Ugwu
Public Relations Officer: Gbemiga Olamikan
Provost: Moses Akwashiki
Speaking after administering the oath of office, NUJ representative Ms. Joy Udem commended the smooth conduct of the election and applauded the level of gender inclusion, noting that women now hold several key positions within the newly formed leadership.
In his acceptance speech, Chairman Omosola Akingboye expressed gratitude to members for the trust placed in him and his team. He assured that the new leadership would uphold professional journalism standards and foster inclusivity within the association. “We will work collectively to achieve the association’s goals and uplift the industry,” Akingboye affirmed, adding that stakeholders should expect a renewed commitment to excellence from ACOE.
The election marks a significant milestone for the association as it positions itself to become a driving force in the digital journalism space.
