Police Nab Duo in Jos Over Murder of Chinese National in Ogun

In a major breakthrough in the investigation of the brutal murder of a Chinese national in Ogun State, the Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects believed to have orchestrated and executed the killing earlier this year. The arrests followed a painstaking intelligence-led operation spanning several months and states.

The confirmation was made in a press release signed by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Monday, July 15, 2025. According to the release, the suspects—identified as Yunusa Abdullahi, 25, from Borno State, and Peace Keno Danlami, 20, from Taraba State—were apprehended in Jos, Plateau State, after weeks of evading authorities under false identities.

The incident, which occurred on January 12, 2025, sent shockwaves through the local business community in Ogere, Ogun State, when the lifeless body of Mr. Chen Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd., was discovered in his office with multiple stab wounds to the chest.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, who were both factory workers at the same company and allegedly involved in a romantic relationship, exploited a staffing gap during an overtime shift to disable the company’s security system and gain access to Mr. Wang’s office. After fatally attacking him, they reportedly stole keys to his residence and later looted his home before fleeing the state.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, deployed the Force Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) to assist the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran. Using a blend of digital forensics, biometric analysis, and human intelligence, investigators meticulously tracked the suspects’ movement across state lines until their arrest in Jos on July 14, 2025.

In his statement, ACP Adejobi praised the synergy between the Force Headquarters operatives and the Ogun SCID, commending their “diligence, professionalism, and relentless pursuit of justice.” The Inspector General further assured the public of the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to the safety and security of both citizens and foreign nationals through proactive, technology-driven law enforcement.

The suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged to court after the conclusion of the ongoing investigations.
