The Nassarawa State Police Command is set to combat rising threats of cultism and organized crime and rid the society of bad elements.
This was the declaration of Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, as he launched a statewide crackdown on criminal hideouts across Nasarawa State. The operation comes in response to credible intelligence indicating that cult groups may attempt coordinated attacks on July 7 (7/7).
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, the directive is part of the command’s renewed efforts to rid the state of cultist activities and protect public safety.

At a high-level security engagement held Monday at the Police Command Headquarters in Lafia, CP Shetima met with hotel owners and managers from all 13 local government areas. He called on them to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious gatherings or bookings that could be linked to criminal activity.
“You are our partners in security. As the eyes and ears of the community, we urge you to be alert, and report any suspicious gatherings or bookings immediately. If you see something, say something,” CP Shetima said.

The hoteliers expressed support for the initiative, pledging full cooperation with law enforcement to help safeguard the peace and security of Nasarawa State.
Following the meeting, the Commissioner ordered immediate intelligence-driven raids on suspected cultist enclaves and criminal dens throughout the state. He also emphasized the need for officers to uphold human rights while carrying out the operations.
The Nasarawa State Police Command reassured residents of its firm commitment to protecting lives and property and urged citizens to remain law-abiding and proactive in reporting criminal activity.
