FRSC’s Housing Drive Hits New Heights as Corps Marshal Commissions Estate in Ilorin. By Raymond Enoch
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) marked another major milestone in its transformative housing initiative as Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed commissioned a new estate in Ilorin, Kwara State—bringing his ambitious “One Man, One House” vision closer to full realization.
The newly commissioned FRSC Homes in CAMICS Garden City stand as a testament to the Corps Marshal’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of personnel. In his remarks during the official handover, the Corps Marshal emphasized that the estate is not merely a physical structure, but a bold declaration of fulfilled promises, rekindled partnerships, and restored hope within the FRSC community.
“Under my watch as Corps Marshal, I have made it clear that staff welfare—especially in the area of shelter—is not negotiable,” Shehu Mohammed stated. “That commitment is strengthening the Vision 20,000 Housing Initiative under the mantra: ‘One Man, One House’.”
This estate joins a growing list of housing developments spearheaded by the FRSC under Mohammed’s leadership, with over 40 homes already delivered across the country and more than 40 hectares of land secured for future projects. Strategic locations like Orozo, Kuje, and Bwari in Abuja; Ado-Ekiti; Uyo; Sokoto; and Ilorin have all been tapped for their potential to host comfortable and affordable housing for personnel.
The initiative aims not only to ease the housing burden of FRSC officers but also to foster job satisfaction, boost morale, and create a stronger sense of community among staff.
The commissioning event drew praise from dignitaries and stakeholders alike, including Honourable Prince Laide Muhammed, Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Pensions, and Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasim, former National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers. Representatives from sister paramilitary agencies were also in attendance to show support for the landmark achievement.
With each new estate, the FRSC moves one step closer to making housing security a guaranteed benefit for its personnel—a future Corps Marshal Mohammed continues to actively build, one home at a time.
