FRSC Recovers 73 Stolen Vehicles Through National Identification Scheme

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the successful recovery of 73 stolen vehicles across the country in 2024, made possible through its National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) portal.
In a statement issued by FRSC spokesperson, Olusegun Ogungbemide, the agency attributed this achievement to intelligence-driven operations conducted in collaboration with other security agencies. The recovered vehicles were intercepted at the point of registration, preventing them from being integrated into the national system.
According to the statement, the recovered vehicles include:
Toyota models: Four Highlanders, one Lexus, 21 Corollas, 17 Camrys, six Siennas, six Lexus 350s, three Lexus ES350s, one Hilux, one RAV4, one Celica, and one Venza.
Other brands: One Suzuki Bus, one Honda Pilot, one Honda Ace, two Honda Accords, one Daihatsu, one Mercedes-Benz car, one MAN Truck, one Pontiac Vibe, and two Qlink motorcycles.
The FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, commended the dedication and professionalism of FRSC personnel in ensuring road safety and security across the nation. He emphasized the importance of accurate vehicle registration details, highlighting their crucial role in intelligence gathering and vehicle recovery.
Reiterating the agency’s commitment to making Nigerian roads safer, the FRSC urged the public to support its efforts in crime prevention and road safety management.
