Rev. Dopa Bags UN Peace Ambassador Award, Pledges to do more

The Taraba State Chairman TEKAN/ ECWA bloc and Director of Connectional Ministries of United Methodist Church UMC Southern Conference Reverend Doctor Philip Micah Dopah has been presented with the award of Ambassador for Peace.

The award presentation was performed by the Director General and Chairman Board of Trustees, United Nations Polac Foundation Professor Halo Eton during the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace in Lagos.

Speaking Professor Halo Eton said the UN-Polac Foundation was established to strengthen the United Nations and UNESCO policies and programmes on peace-building with guiding philosophies of establishing lasting peace in Nigeria.

He revealed that Polac Foundation in playing her leading role in the maintenance of peace building in Nigeria, decided to reinvigorate UN-POLAC Peace College to enhance the training of Peace Advocates Ambassadors for onward propagation of peaceful coexistence in the country.

Professor Halo Eton said the Board of Directors had already approved the establishment of UN-POLAC Peace Club within eleven universities selected for training across the six geo-political zones.

He Congratulated the Reverend Doctor Philip Micah Dopah on in investiture and Award by the UN-POLAC Foundation.

Responding, the awardee, who is the Taraba State Chairman TEKAN/ ECWA bloc and Director Connectional Ministries of United Methodist Church UMC Southern Conference, Rev Dr Philip Micah Dopah appreciated the UN-POLAC Foundation for finding him worthy of the award and pledged to always promote peace at all cost.

He described the award presentation as a morale booster, that will spur him to do more in propagating the Gospel of Peace and harmonious living in the country
