Ethiopian Airlines Named Official Carrier for Trans Africa Investment Summit as Kampala Gears Up for Africa-Diaspora Investment Forum By Raymond Enoch
Ethiopian Airlines has been named the Official Airline Carrier for the 2026 Trans Africa Investment Summit, in a strategic partnership expected to strengthen international air connectivity and ease travel for participants heading to Kampala for the high-level Africa-diaspora investment gathering.
The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on September 21, 2026, brings the continent’s aviation connectivity into closer alignment with the summit’s ambition of deepening investment, business and development links between Africa and its diaspora.
The summit is scheduled for November 4–6, 2026, at the Silver Springs Hotel, Kampala, Uganda, and will bring together investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, business leaders, development stakeholders and members of the African diaspora from across different countries.
Under the agreement, eligible summit participants travelling to Kampala from any Ethiopian Airlines online point will receive a 12 per cent discount on Economy and Business Class fares.
According to the organisers, Pilot International will provide eligible delegates with guidance on how to access the travel benefit, making the airline partnership a practical component of efforts to facilitate international participation in the summit.
The collaboration involves Ethiopian Airlines and Nova Holdings, which serves as the Strategic Aviation and Travel Partner for the Trans Africa Investment Summit.
The 2026 summit is being hosted by Pilot International and Women Entrepreneurship Forum Africa (WEFA) under the theme: “Powering Africa with Renewable Energy to Foster Collaboration Between Africa and the Diaspora.”
The theme places renewable energy, investment and Africa-diaspora collaboration at the centre of discussions as stakeholders explore opportunities to accelerate sustainable development and strengthen economic partnerships across the continent.
The summit is expected to feature a combination of plenary sessions, specialised discussions, workshops and exhibitions, creating a platform for participants to exchange ideas, showcase investment opportunities and explore partnerships capable of supporting Africa’s development agenda.
With participation expected from Africa and the diaspora, organisers say the Ethiopian Airlines partnership will add an important connectivity dimension to the summit, particularly for delegates travelling internationally to Kampala.
The development also positions the summit within the broader effort to improve intra-African and international connectivity as a facilitator of trade, investment, tourism, entrepreneurship and people-to-people exchanges.
Beyond the aviation partnership, the summit is designed to connect African enterprises and investment opportunities with diaspora networks, while creating space for dialogue around renewable energy and its potential to support inclusive economic growth.
The organisers have invited interested investors, entrepreneurs, institutions, development partners and other stakeholders to participate in the three-day summit in Kampala.
