LADFAN, WANILTU Academy Seal Strategic Partnership to Transform Nigeria’s Livestock, Agribusiness Sector Targets Youth, Modern Farming, Value Chain Expansion Across Nigeria By Raymond Enoch
The Livestock Agribusiness Development Farmers Association of Nigeria (LADFAN) and WANILTU Academy Nigeria have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at revolutionizing livestock production, agribusiness development, youth empowerment, and agricultural training across Nigeria.
The partnership, described by stakeholders as a major boost for Nigeria’s agricultural transformation agenda, seeks to combine LADFAN’s extensive grassroots livestock network with WANILTU Academy’s expertise in human capacity development, technical training, and community mobilization.
According to documents made available to the press in Abuja, the collaboration will focus on strengthening livestock value chains, improving farmers’ productivity, expanding agribusiness opportunities, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in line with the National Livestock Transformation Plan (NLTP).
LADFAN, a leading organization committed to modernizing Nigeria’s livestock industry, disclosed that the initiative will support livestock farmers and students through specialized training on modern farming techniques, improved animal health management, veterinary support services, nutrition enhancement, cooperative development, and market access opportunities.
The two entities also emphasized plans to facilitate joint processing and marketing projects capable of boosting rural economies while creating employment opportunities for young people and women within the agricultural value chain.
As part of the collaboration plans, both organizations are expected to develop pilot agribusiness projects, establish governance and reporting frameworks, mobilize resources, and design implementation timelines for sustainable project delivery.
Speaking on the partnership initiative, officials of LADFAN noted that the organization is prepared to draft a structured Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to clearly define operational responsibilities and align objectives with WANILTU Academy’s industry-driven training and development goals.
WANILTU Academy Nigeria, an institution known for practical skills acquisition, entrepreneurship training, and agricultural empowerment programs across the Northeast and the Federal Capital Territory, expressed readiness to fully participate in the initiative.
The Academy stated that its experience in youth empowerment, agricultural training, media advocacy, and grassroots mobilization positions it as a strong partner in advancing sustainable agribusiness development nationwide.
The institution further highlighted its Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) approval, and Quality Assurance Assessor certification as indicators of its commitment to professionalism and quality service delivery.
Beyond technical training, the collaboration is also expected to leverage WANILTU Academy’s strong media engagement platforms, including radio and social media outreach programs, to promote agricultural awareness, farmer education, and community participation.
Industry observers believe the partnership could serve as a model for public-private and community-driven agricultural development initiatives capable of improving food security, reducing unemployment, and accelerating economic growth in Nigeria’s livestock and agribusiness sectors.
Both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to building a mutually beneficial relationship that will empower farmers, enhance productivity, support youth entrepreneurship, and strengthen community-based agricultural development across the country.
