During the discussions, Ambassador Halmouri conveyed warm greetings from the Palestinian leadership and expressed deep appreciation for Nigeria’s consistent and principled support for the Palestinian cause. Humanitarian challenges in Gaza and other Palestinian territories featured prominently in the talks.

The Palestinian envoy briefed Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister on the deteriorating situation, highlighting security challenges and restricted humanitarian access, while commending Nigeria’s advocacy for a peaceful resolution anchored on international law and ethical responsibility.

The Ambassador also revealed the Palestinian Government’s interest in organising a future visit by its Minister of Foreign Affairs to Nigeria, noting that such a visit could include engagements with key government institutions, including the National Assembly.

Responding, Ambassador Tuggar reaffirmed Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to justice, peaceful coexistence and respect for international law. He assured the Palestinian delegation that all issues raised would be carefully examined through appropriate diplomatic and administrative channels in line with Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives.

The meeting ended on a warm note, underscoring the enduring relationship between Nigeria and Palestine and their shared commitment to sustained dialogue, cooperation and peaceful engagement.
