Bridging Nations Through Culture: Maiden Cultural Diplomacy Conference Set for Lagos By Raymond Enoch

Nigeria is set to host the maiden edition of the Cultural Diplomacy Conference, a landmark gathering aimed at repositioning culture as a powerful tool for international engagement and global influence.

The two-day conference, themed “Bridging Nations Through Cultural Diplomacy,” will take place on January 27 and 28, 2026, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), 13/15 Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, with proceedings beginning daily at 10:00 a.m.

Organised by Zeelee Consult Ltd in partnership with the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), the conference will convene policymakers, diplomats, scholars, cultural practitioners, and global stakeholders for in-depth conversations on how cultural diplomacy can enhance Nigeria’s international standing.

Accordingly, the organisers, the maiden conference, will explore innovative pathways for collaboration on culturaldiversityanddiplomacy, national branding, and cultural exchange, positioning culture as a strategic instrument for deepening diplomacy and sustainable international partnerships.

The event will feature keynote addresses by leading voices in diplomacy and culture, alongside expert panel discussions, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities designed to foster dialogue and cross-sector collaboration. Participants are also expected to gain strategic insights into leveraging cultural diplomacy to advance global influence and mutual understanding.

As Nigeria continues to assert its presence on the global stage, the organisers note that the conference provides a timely platform to reimagine diplomacy beyond traditional statecraft, highlighting culture as a unifying force capable of bridging nations and peoples.
