SWS FCT Chapter Closes 2025 with Thanksgiving Service and Community Outreach. By Raymond Enoch

The Standup for Women Society (SWS), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, marked the close of the year 2025 with a Thanksgiving Service held at the NTA Arena Chapel, Abuja, on December 14.
The service featured praise and worship, singing, dancing, and a sermon that emphasized the importance of gratitude to God at the end of every year.
Following the thanksgiving, SWS members proceeded to Aso Village, Sabon Lugbe, under Kabusa Ward, for a large-scale community outreach programme where gifts were distributed to over 1,500 women and children. Items shared included hair accessories, food items, household essentials, clothing, footwear, and handbags.
The outreach formed part of the organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts aimed at giving back to underserved communities. Speaking at the event, the Chairperson of SWS FCT Chapter, Lib Mina Daniels, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to community service, noting that more communities would benefit from similar interventions in the coming year. She also expressed appreciation to members for their generous contributions towards the success of the project.
The event also witnessed a show of solidarity with Hon. Princess Gladys Ngozi Joseph, Councillor Candidate for ADC, Kabusa Ward. In her remarks, Hon. Gladys described the outreach as massive, stating that the overwhelming support from SWS members had greatly encouraged her and would positively impact her prospects in the forthcoming February 2026 elections. She thanked the SWS FCT Chapter for the gesture.
The Women Leader of Aso Community, Comrade Tokwase Josiah, expressed gratitude to the organization for remembering her community. “We are very grateful for this visit. We do not take it for granted and we look forward to more engagements next year,” she said.
Also speaking, Lib Grace Oshinyemi, a National Officer of SWS, thanked God for the gift of life and urged members to prepare purposefully for 2026, encouraging the replication of similar outreach programmes across more communities.
In a related development, members of the SWS FCT Chapter paid a solidarity visit to the NTA Sports Inaugural End-of-Year Party Awards, in support of their Treasurer, Lib Rachel Ayeni, adding a colourful and memorable close to the day’s activities.
