The Kukah Centre refutes recent misleading reports surrounding remarks attributed to its Founder, His Lordship Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, on the critical issue of religious freedom and the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. These reports selectively quote his statements, ignore context, and create narratives that do not reflect his established position. Bishop Kukah has consistently spoken against faith-based violence and called for justice, solidarity, and accountability. His speeches from the Vatican and Kaduna engagements are in the public domain and clearly affirm this stance. Any suggestion that he denied or diminished the persecution of Christians is inaccurate and unacceptable. We therefore urge accurate reporting and responsible public commentary.
