At the heart of Taraba State, Yorro Local Government Area is home to a diverse and vibrant population known for its cultural richness, agricultural strength, and growing political consciousness. As one of the key constituencies in the state, Yorro continues to play an increasingly significant role in shaping state and national conversations around governance and development.

In line with this growing political and developmental momentum, the Yorro Community Political Development Initiative (YCPDI), Yandang Wing, led by its Acting Coordinator, Hon. Tilli Peter Yerima, has paid a high-level courtesy visit to former Executive Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency, Rev. Jolly T. Nyame, at his Jalingo residence, the Taraba State capital.

The visit, described as both symbolic and politically strategic, was aimed at seeking the elder statesman’s blessings, insight, and counsel as the group intensifies efforts toward fostering political inclusiveness, unity, and grassroots mobilization and development within the Yorro community.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Yerima reiterated the group’s core mission: “Yorro remains a decisive political bloc in Taraba State—not by chance or privilege, but by right. We are here to share our objectives with our father and political mentor, and to tap into his wisdom as we pursue the rightful inclusion and representation of our people.”

He stressed that the initiative will continue to mobilize Yandang youth and other stakeholders toward the goal of producing credible national representatives from Yorro. “We are committed to building political bridges, amplifying the voices of our people, and ensuring that Yorro is never left behind in the national conversation,” Yerima added.

In his response, Rev. Nyame welcomed the delegation warmly and lauded their passion and sense of purpose. He praised the group’s commitment to unity, peace, and political advancement, and encouraged them to remain resilient and visionary in their pursuits.

“You have taken the right step by seeking counsel. Stay focused, remain united, and do not lose sight of your mission,” Rev. Nyame advised. He assured the group of his continuous prayers and unwavering support.

The visit marks a significant step forward for the YCPDI in strengthening its network and gaining vital mentorship as it advocates for fair and equitable political representation for the Yorro community.
