TCN Schedules Maintenance on Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode 132kV Line By Raymond Enoch
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a three-hour scheduled preventive maintenance on the Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode 132kV transmission line, with electricity supply to customers in Ijebu-Ode and adjoining communities expected to be temporarily disrupted.
The maintenance, scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026, will run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is part of TCN’s annual preventive maintenance programme designed to improve the reliability and operational integrity of its transmission infrastructure.
According to TCN, its maintenance crew will carry out work on the 132kV line switchgear equipment, requiring a temporary interruption of the transmission supply serving the area.
During the maintenance window, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity from the transmission network for onward distribution to customers in Ijebu-Ode and its environs.
The planned intervention is intended to enable technical personnel to inspect, service and maintain critical switching equipment associated with the transmission line, helping to identify potential faults before they develop into more serious system failures.
TCN said the temporary outage was necessary to provide a safe working environment for its engineers and maintenance personnel while the preventive works are being undertaken.
The company, while regretting the inconvenience the planned interruption may cause electricity consumers, appealed for their understanding and cooperation throughout the maintenance period.
Power supply to the affected areas is expected to resume following the completion of the maintenance work and the restoration of the transmission line to normal operation.
