TCN Announces Annual Maintenance of Ajaokuta 330/132kV Transmission Substation By Raymond Enoch

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced its annual preventive maintenance exercise at the 330/132kV Ajaokuta Transmission Substation, scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

TCN said the exercise is necessary to sustain the reliability of the transmission network and has apologised for the inconvenience the planned maintenance may cause affected electricity customers, while urging their understanding and cooperation.

The maintenance will enable TCN engineers to carry out critical preventive work on the 162MVA, 330/132kV power transformer, associated switchgear and ancillary equipment at the substation.

Consequently, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity to customers in Ekirin, Omuo, Ibillo, Akoko, Ogala, Ikare, Magongo, Okene Town, Ayere, Kabba and environs during the maintenance period.

Similarly, customers of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) in Okpella Town, BUA Cement Company, West African Fertilizer Company, Dibeks Milling Company, Edestein Company, Freedom Group Company, Ososo, Uluoke, Iyora, Apana, Okpekpe, Arigidi, Ikare Town, Lampese, Igara, Oka and environs will be affected.

TCN assured that power supply will be restored to the affected areas upon completion of the maintenance exercise.
