Nigeria Sends Condolences to South Korea Following Plane Crash Tragedy Claiming 179 Lives

A statement by the Acting Spokesperson of the ministry, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, reads in parts; “the Federal Republic of Nigeria wishes to express her sincere condolences to the Government and People of the Republic of Korea for the unfortunate crash of Jeju Air Flight 2216 that occurred on Sunday, December 29th, 2024.

“The government and people of Nigeria stand with our South Korean brothers and sisters in this moment of unimaginable pain. We pray for the repose of the souls of the departed and extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families,” the statement read.

The ill-fated aircraft, reportedly crashed shortly after takeoff, leaving a trail of destruction and heartbreak. Early reports indicate that the crash might have been caused by mechanical failure, adverse weather, or other potential factors though official investigations are yet to confirm the exact cause.
