In a bold reaffirmation of diplomatic goodwill, Nigeria has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the occasion of its Independence Anniversary, highlighting the growing ties between the two nations across diplomacy, culture, and economic cooperation.

According to a statement made available to the media and signed by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveyed Nigeria’s greetings to Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ayman Safadi.

The statement praised Jordan’s pivotal role in promoting regional stability, interfaith harmony, and humanitarian efforts, especially in hosting refugees and advocating for a just resolution to the Palestinian question.

“Nigeria and Jordan share a longstanding relationship built on mutual respect, cooperation, and shared values,” the statement noted, adding that recent developments—such as Jordan’s inclusion as a permanent pilgrimage destination for Nigerian Christians—reflect the deepening bond between the two nations.

“This development not only enhances spiritual and cultural exchanges but also paves the way for broader collaboration in tourism, trade, agriculture, and technology,” the statement read.

As both countries continue to strengthen bilateral ties, Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing mutually beneficial partnerships with Jordan in the years ahead.
