JALINGO LGC ORGANIZES CHAIRMANSHIP FOOTBALL MATCH COMPETITION

As part his administration grassroots effort to mobilize the youth and and communities to sustain unity and peaceful coexistence, the CTC Chairman Hon. Aminu Jauro Hassan had organized a “Jalingo Local Government Chairman’s 2022 Unity Cup Competition” which was played by the 10 wards making up the Local Government Council. 

The football match later climaxed into a finals which was played between Yelwa Abbare ward vs Barade ward. The keenly competed final match ended in a penalty shoot-out where Yelwa Abbare ward defeated Barade ward with a 5 to 4 goals.

Addressing the youths shortly after the match, the CTC chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Aminu Jauro Hassan who was represented by the Leader of the Council, Hon. Umar Abba Usman, said the idea of the competition was conceived to unite the youths especially at this era that sports have become a tool not only for entertainment but nation building and global opportunities for young people. He added that the competition was not intended to be a do or die affair but an avenue for strengthening unity, tolerance and harmonious coexistence across communities of the local government council. He advised the youth to continue to maintain decorum and responsible behaviour as his administration is poised to be working fervently for the development of the people of the area

Also speaking during the competition, the District Head of Jalingo and Galadima Muri Alhaji Lamido Tukur Umar Tukur charged the youth to continue in the spirit of unity and said that they are grateful to Allah for giving them a hardworking chairman like Hon Dr Aminu Jauro Hassan who is making the community proud in the way governs the Local Government Council. 

He called upon all well-meaning Philanthropists and sports lovers to support the effort of the Jalingo local government council in the sports sector in order to continue to organize such events at the grassroots. 

 Notable stakeholders, traditional leaders, Councillors management and staff of Jalingo Local Government Council and stream of youths from every nook and cranny of the council attended the closing ceremony of the competition.
