The Guinean Electoral Commission has announced the provisional results of the December 28, 2025 presidential election, declaring President Mamadi Doumbouya the winner in 28th December 2025 polls

The announcement was made at the national results collation centre in Conakry, where the Commission disclosed that Doumbouya, candidate of the GMD political movement, secured 4,594,262 votes, representing 86.72 percent of the valid ballots cast nationwide.

According to the Commission, a total of 6,768,450 voters were registered for the election, out of which 5,608,520 participated, reflecting a voter turnout of 80.95 percent.

The Electoral Commission stated that voting took place across 23,673 polling units, with results from 23,398 successfully collated.

A total of 310,589 ballots were declared invalid, leaving 5,297,931 valid votes used in computing the provisional outcome.

Other candidates trailed far behind. Abdoulaye Yéro Baldé of FRONDEG came second with 349,129 votes, or 6.59 percent, while Faya Lansana Milimouno of BL polled 108,117 votes, representing 2.04 percent. Makalé Camara of FAN received 84,175 votes, or 1.59 percent, while the remaining contenders each scored less than one percent of the total valid votes.

The ECOWAS Election Observation Mission monitored the voting, counting, and collation processes in several parts of the country.

ECOWAS observers were present at polling units and centralisation centres, including in Dalaba Prefecture, where results from multiple communes were compiled and validated.

Commune-level results released by the Electoral Commission showed Doumbouya recording commanding leads across urban and rural areas, with vote shares exceeding 70 percent in most communes and surpassing 90 percent in some localities. Several communes reported validation rates of between 99 and 100 percent, indicating minimal discrepancies during collation.

The Electoral Commission emphasized that the results remain provisional, pending final validation by the competent constitutional authority, and urged political parties and candidates to channel any complaints through established legal mechanisms.

With the ECOWAS Election Observation Mission witnessing the process and nationwide figures indicating a clear margin of victory, the announcement marks a decisive step in Guinea’s post-election process following the December 28 presidential poll.
