FRSC Gets a Lift as FG Approves 18 New Commanders. By Raymond Enoch

In a strategic move aimed at strengthening the leadership and operational capacity of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), His Excellency George Akume, CON, has approved the promotion of 18 senior officers to the rank of Assistant Corps Marshal.

Corps Public Education Officer Federal Road Safety Corp said that this development marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to enhance road safety administration and reduce the frequency of road traffic crashes across Nigeria.

Among the newly promoted officers, three—ACM YK Nadabo, ACM JA Akpa, and ACM P Okoyeocha—will be proceeding on retirement with effect from May 19, 2025.

The remaining 15 officers will continue in active service and are expected to contribute significantly to the Corps’ mission of safeguarding lives on Nigerian roads.

The officers still in active service include ACM TL Bamigbayan, ACM JO Asolu (psc), ACM AG Sanusi, ACM AM Hassan, CO Asom, ACM JW Toby, ACM I Abubakar (pjsc), ACM AO Odeleye-Oladayo (fsi), ACM OM Ibirongbe (FCNA), and ACM E Odiete. Others are ACM MO Olonusaye, ACM E SonAllah, ACM UA Ibrahim, ACM AR Aremu, and ACM JS Uduabba.

SGF Akume, while commenting on the promotions, described the selection process as both rigorous and transparent, emphasizing that the elevation of the officers reflects the Tinubu administration’s unwavering commitment to fortifying FRSC’s leadership structure. He expressed confidence that this move will better position the Corps to address road safety challenges with greater efficiency and impact.

Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly promoted Assistant Corps Marshals, acknowledging their dedication and professional excellence. He noted that the promotion serves as a recognition of their invaluable contributions and will further inspire them to uphold the Corps’ core mission of saving lives on Nigerian roads.

With these promotions, the FRSC reinforces its dedication to its mandate and is now better poised to meet the dynamic demands of road safety management across the country.
