Foreign Affairs Minister Tuggar to Lead Nigeria’s Delegation to 3rd AU-EU Ministerial Meeting in Brussels By Raymond Enoch
The Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, will lead the country’s delegation to the 3rd African Union-European Union (AU-EU) Ministerial Meeting scheduled to take place in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium.
This was disclosed in a statement released to the media by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spokesperson Mr Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa,
which highlighted the significance of the AU-EU partnership that dates back to the first AU-EU Summit in Cairo in 2000.
Since then, five summits have helped shape the evolving relationship between the two regional blocs.
The meeting in Brussels will begin with the African Group of Ambassadors convening to be followed by a session of Senior Officials. The high-level Ministerial Meeting will hold on May 21 of May 2025.
Ambassador Tuggar is expected to deliver a key intervention on issues of Peace, Security, and Governance during the plenary.
The Ministry reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to deepening its diplomatic ties and advancing mutual interests through multilateral engagement within the AU-EU framework.
