Black Wealth Rising: A 125-Year Legacy Powers Global Call to Action at Atlanta & Tuskegee.
By Raymond Enoch
By the month of August 2025, the cities of Atlanta, Georgia and Tuskegee, Alabama will become the twin epicenters of Black economic progress as they host the 125th Annual National Black Business Conference (NBBCon). From August 20–23, 2025, over 3,000 Black business leaders, entrepreneurs, and Pan-African delegates will unite for what organizers call a historic fusion of legacy and global ambition.
Held during National Black Business Month, the conference marks a pivotal moment not only in Black American history but also in the future of Black enterprise across the African diaspora.
Honoring a 125-Year Mission of Economic Liberation
Founded in 1900 by Booker T. Washington, the National Business League (NBL) reaches a remarkable milestone this year. Its mission—rooted in economic self-determination, self-sufficiency, and enterprise—remains more relevant than ever.
“This is not just a commemoration. It’s a continuation of a movement to build generational wealth, globally,” said Dr. Kenneth L. Harris, President and CEO of the NBL.
In addition to marking the NBL’s 125th anniversary, the conference will commemorate other historic milestones:
130th Anniversary of Washington’s 1895 Atlanta Exposition Speech
100th Anniversaries of both the National Bar Association and the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters
40th Anniversary of the National Policy Alliance
A Pan-African Platform for Power and Progress
The 2025 NBBCon is expected to welcome delegates from over 30 countries and island nations, creating a platform for trade agreements, international investment, and cross-border business opportunities.
“This conference elevates the conversation beyond domestic economics,” said Dr. Harris. “It’s about aligning Black entrepreneurs across the globe—building a new economic order rooted in shared values and shared vision.”
Atlanta & Tuskegee: Dual Engines of History and Innovation
Programming will be split between two iconic venues to include:
The Hilton Atlanta, a modern hub of commerce and innovation.
The historic Tuskegee University, where the Washington Economic Pre-Conference will be held from August 17–23rd 2025.
This dual-location setup symbolizes the intersection of legacy and forward movement—where Black history meets global strategy.
Attendees can expect a dynamic lineup of high-level events: which includes
Expert Panels and Workshops featuring top minds in finance, public policy, innovation, and leadership.
The Global Buyer–Supplier Diversity Summit, where Black-owned businesses can secure major procurement contracts.
A Black-Tie Awards Gala honoring outstanding contributions in entrepreneurship and community leadership.
Networking Forums and Trade Dialogues to bridge entrepreneurs from the U.S. and abroad.
In keeping with its mission of equity and inclusion, the NBBCon offers flexible registration packages ranging from free to $149.99, making it accessible to students, startups, and CEOs alike.
“This is the people’s conference,” said an NBL spokesperson. “It’s open to anyone ready to grow, learn, and lead.”
Organizers stress that this event is more than a business conference. It is a call to action grounded in:
Economic independence
Cross-continental collaboration
Intergenerational wealth building
Strategic innovation for the future of Black business
With legacy on its side and the world in its view, the 2025 National Black Business Conference aims to mobilize a generation and inspire the next.
