By Raymond Enoch.

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly came alive on July 29th as it hosted a high-level diplomatic gathering to commemorate World Peace Day and mark Ghana’s inaugural Peace Mission Induction Ceremony. The event, organized under the theme of global peace advancement, saw the induction of new Peace Ambassadors and Advocates from across Africa and the Diaspora.

The event attracted a distinguished assembly of diplomats, traditional rulers, government officials, Pan-Africanists, captains of industry, and cultural influencers. Their presence underscored the importance of the initiative and the urgent need to foster peace and stability across communities worldwide.

The event commenced with a grand entrance led by Dr. Festus Ozioma, UN Peace Coordinator and head of the Peace and Positive Living Awareness Center. He was ceremonially escorted by previously inducted Peace Ambassadors from various African nations, symbolizing unity and continuity in the global peace mission.

Among the newly inducted Peace Ambassadors were highly accomplished figures including African-American public speaker and former legislator, Hon. Tangi Smith; Nigeria’s ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, Dr. Jamezany James; and cultural diplomat Queen Zosunli Naa. They were joined by notable Ghanaian leaders such as Nii Ayinsah Sasraku III, a traditional king and Co-chairman of the event, and Dr. George Amoh, Executive Secretary of Ghana’s National Peace Council.

Other inductees included Hon. Abubakar Usman, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Kaduna State; Ambassador Rev. Dr. Daniel Kwao Akah, author and certified marriage officer; Igwe Chinedu Kingsley JP, CEO of Edu Motors Company Ltd; entrepreneur and actress Victoria Baidoo; fashion designer and royal, Nana Akua Tekyiwaa I; Chief Calistus Elozieuwa, Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora (Ghana chapter); and Bishop Dr. Jeremiah Uchenna Chukwu of Ultimate Power Ministry International.

Also recognized were Chief Iyke Onyekuba, a Nigerian entrepreneur based in Ghana; Mr. Edward Nii Adjiri Solomon, traditional ruler in James Town, Accra; Willie Herbert Arrington, a Hebrew Israelite and Chief Counsellor (Manwerhene I); Prophet Great Chukwuka, founder of CfaS Ministry International; and Dr. Ms. Ofoedu Ifeoma ReginaGrace, a renowned humanitarian.

Despite limited preparation time, the Ghana coordinating team—led by Apostle Dr. Henry Ihekire, a Peace Ambassador himself—delivered an impactful and well-organized event. The upcoming Lagos edition scheduled for August 9th is anticipated to continue the momentum, with even broader international participation.

All inductees were celebrated not only for their accomplishments but for their demonstrated integrity, courage, and commitment to peace. They pledged to amplify their roles as advocates for harmony, non-violence, and development—reaffirming that the world must embrace peace, not war, for sustained progress and global coexistence.

The event was a visual and emotional celebration of unity, diplomacy, and collective responsibility. Photos from the ceremony will be made available for public viewing to reflect the spirit and purpose of the gathering.
