Outgoing Liberian Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS Pays Farewell Visit to ECOWAS Commission President.

The Outgoing Ambassador of Liberia to Nigeria, Benin , Equatorial Gunea and ECOWAS Commission Dr. Al-Hassan CONTEH made a significant farewell visit to the President of the ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Dr. Omar Alieu TOURAY, at the ECOWAS Commission’s Headquarters today in Abuja, Nigeria.

Dr. CONTEH, whose tenure has been marked by a close partnership between Liberia and ECOWAS, expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support he had received from the regional body. Reflecting on the fruitful years of collaboration, he underscored ECOWAS’ critical role in supporting Liberia, particularly during challenging times.
A key highlight of the visit was Dr. CONTEH’s praise for the establishment of the ECOWAS Permanent Representative Committee (PRC), an advisory body that he noted has strengthened the ECOWAS decision-making process. The outgoing Ambassador lauded the Commission for fostering this initiative, which he believes has been vital in strengthening regional cooperation.
In his remarks, H.E. Dr. Omar Alieu TOURAY acknowledged Dr. CONTEH’s exceptional leadership and the significant contributions he made to the ECOWAS PRC during his tenure. The ECOWAS Commission President assured the outgoing Ambassador that the regional body would continue to support his efforts in his future endeavors and that ECOWAS remained committed to its partnership with the Government and people of Liberia.
