NIMC Unveils Self-Service Portal for Secure NIN Data Modifications.

In a significant step toward streamlining the National Identification Number (NIN) management process, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has launched a user-friendly self-service portal aimed at simplifying the modification of NIN data for Nigerian citizens.

This new initiative, which can be accessed via the official portal at selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng, is designed to provide a secure and convenient way for Nigerians to update their NIN details without the need to visit NIMC offices. The agency emphasizes that all modifications to NIN data should be carried out exclusively on this official platform to ensure the integrity and protection of users’ personal information.

Dr. Kayode Adegoke, the Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, stressed the importance of caution when dealing with third-party websites. “Do not attempt to modify your NIN data on any unauthorized sites, as this may compromise your personal information and put you at risk of identity theft,” he warned in a statement. The NIMC assures users that the official portal offers a secure and protected environment, enabling Nigerians to update their NIN information from the comfort of their homes, anytime and anywhere.

This new development comes as part of NIMC’s ongoing efforts to safeguard citizens’ data while offering a modernized and efficient way of interacting with the identity management system. For those who require assistance or more information, NIMC has provided several ways to reach out: through their official website, by sending an email to nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng, or by calling their customer care line at 070022556462.

With the growing need for secure and seamless online services, the NIMC’s self-service portal marks a key milestone in digital identity management in Nigeria.
