Group calls for Sustainable Community Development and Support for the Vulnerable.

Executive Director of the Mercy Sustainable Humanitarian Foundation International (MESUHUIN), Rev Dr Njerou Paul Jumangong has appealed to the   Government, Philanthropist and donor Agencies to support activities of Non governmental Organizations, NGOs like the MESUHUIN working in the grassroots to cater for the vulnerable members of the communities like widows and Orphans in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State.

Rev Jumangong who made the call in an exclusive chat with Paradigm News in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital said NGOs carry out projects that support in meeting the needs of the vulnerable people who cannot help themselves in one way or the other, a such the government should assist these NGOs to achieve more projects in the communities in the rural and urban areas.

According to Rev.  Jumangong, ‘’Mercy Sustainable Humanitarian Foundation International was set up as a charitable organization based on the education needs and urgent task to help the needy at the communality where I live”  

“Over the years we have facilitated transmission of aid that are of utmost benefit to vulnerable and underprivileged groups like widows, orphans and the underserved members of   the communities where we work”

“Mercy Sustainable Humanitarian Foundation International has impacted communities in Sardauna Local Government Area, Taraba State, so far, we have supported widows and refugees mostly women with eight hundred farm tools, sixty bags of fertilizers to widows and refugees women, twenty thousand litter water reservoir in Gembu, constructed a classroom block of four classes at Inkiri community which has been handed over to the community” He said.

He explained that his NGO has done more in the area of farm inputs distributions since the communities are agrarian in nature, payment of school fees of refugees children as well as supporting them with meals supplement for about two year now at Inkiri,  Nduyaji, Warkaka  communities in Gembu , Sardauna LGA.

 Also the NGO recently started the Mercy Sustainable Humanitarian Foundation Standard Academic where fifty children are already learning at the academy.

“Other projects so far started by us are, a mobilize clinic to support the health needs of the people, tailoring training center to support initiative geared toward empowerment of widows and refugees mostly women,  to  enable them start-up something on their own, and we are working on more innovations all in a bid to see how we can support this vulnerable, helpless members of the communities” he added.

Rev. Dr Jumangong expressed  gratitude to the organisation’s partner, Women Helping Women  from Germany which  has been largely  instrumental to  the  attainment of the successes recorded so far, maintained that NGOs should strive to judiciously apply funds donated to support their activities and  projects in order to earn credibility.

He harped on the need for local NGOs working at the community levels to acquire capacity building in areas of grant and proposal writing and resource mobilization to be able to meet the purpose for which they have been established.
