The Nigeria Police Force has reinforced security infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with the commissioning of two modern divisional headquarters in Durumi and Galadimawa, a move aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, intelligence-led policing, and community safety.

In a statement made available to the media in Abuja and signed by ASP Halima Mohammed, ANIPR, Police Public Relations Officer, for the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, the Force said the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, was represented at the commissioning by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7, Victor Olaiya, who described the projects as another milestone in the ongoing drive to modernise policing infrastructure and improve service delivery in the FCT.

Olaiya said the new divisional headquarters would enhance emergency response, strengthen intelligence gathering, and deepen community policing, while providing a more conducive working environment for officers and men of the Force.

He urged personnel posted to the facilities to uphold discipline, professionalism, integrity, and respect for human rights, stressing that public confidence is earned through quality service and effective policing.

The AIG also called on residents of the FCT to sustain their partnership with the police by providing timely and credible information to support crime prevention, noting that security remains a collective responsibility.

The Inspector-General reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to modernising policing infrastructure, improving officers’ welfare, deploying technology-driven policing strategies, and strengthening partnerships to ensure a safer and more secure Nigeria.
