ZLP Debunks Fake Offer of 2027 Presidential Ticket to Peter Obi

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has strongly refuted a viral social media claim suggesting that the party has offered its 2027 presidential ticket to former Labour Party candidate Peter Obi.

The party described the allegation as entirely false and baseless, urging the public to disregard the misleading publication.
In an official statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Khalid Arewa, the ZLP clarified that it has no connection with the unidentified social media handle that propagated the misinformation.
The party also emphasized that it has not initiated discussions with any individual or group concerning the 2027 elections.
“We categorically deny this claim in its entirety and affirm that the statement does not reflect the views, decisions, or position of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP),” the statement read.
The ZLP further stressed that its leadership operates strictly within the party’s constitution, principles, and values, dismissing the viral report as a desperate attempt to exploit the party’s growing relevance in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Expressing concern over the spread of false narratives, the party issued a stern warning to those attempting to manipulate its reputation for personal or political gain. “We therefore warn those who want to cash in on the envious position of ZLP to desist from doing so, or we will fish them out and hand them over to security agencies,” the statement declared.
Reaffirming its commitment to democracy and good governance, the ZLP urged Nigerians to rely only on its official communication channels for accurate information. The party also reassured the public of its dedication to promoting credible leadership and national development.
As political activities leading up to the 2027 elections begin to unfold, ZLP’s strong stance against misinformation highlights the growing challenge of fake news in Nigeria’s political space.
