In a significant milestone for corporate governance in Nigeria, Worldwide Technologies Limited has been awarded the Civil Society Plaque of Honour for Transparency and Public Accountability. The recognition, conferred by the National Civil Society Coalition on Transparency and Public Accountability (NCSCTPA), was spearheaded by the Centre for Leadership and Creative Entrepreneurs in Africa Ltd/GTE (CELCE-AFRICA).

The official presentation took place at the company’s Lagos headquarters and drew the presence of civil society leaders, corporate stakeholders, and members of the media. The award celebrates the company’s longstanding commitment to ethical practices, transparency, and accountability within Nigeria’s manufacturing landscape.

Receiving the plaque on behalf of the organization, Mr. Nse Enoch, Managing Director/CEO of Worldwide Technologies Limited, expressed deep appreciation for the honour and reaffirmed the company’s dedication to sustaining its values-driven approach.

In his keynote address, Amb. Kingsley Enwelim Nwanze, Director General/CEO of CELCE-AFRICA and Lead Convener of the coalition, described the award as a “seal of affirmation” from civil society.

> “This plaque is more than an award,” Amb. Nwanze stated. “It is civil society’s affirmation that transparency and accountability are not abstract ideals—they are measurable, actionable, and transformative. When embraced as a standard, as Worldwide Technologies Limited has done, they uplift companies, industries, and the nation as a whole.”

Highlighting the company’s four-decade legacy, Amb. Nwanze praised Worldwide Technologies Limited as a pivotal player in Nigeria’s industrial development. As a trusted supplier of pharmaceutical machinery and a representative of global engineering and manufacturing brands, the company has significantly contributed to sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food, beverages, cosmetics, and chemicals—critical pillars of Nigeria’s economic diversification.

He further lauded the company’s operational transparency, client accountability, and governance integrity, positioning it as a benchmark for responsible corporate leadership in Nigeria.

The award ceremony also provided a platform for CELCE-AFRICA to advocate for continued promotion of people-focused leadership and organizational accountability. Amb. Nwanze used the occasion to urge wider dissemination of CELCE-AFRICA’s recent publication, “Rethinking Leadership through Design: A Pathway for People-Centric Leadership”, aimed at fostering a new generation of ethical leaders.

The event concluded with strong affirmations from civil society actors, reinforcing the message that transparency and accountability remain essential for sustainable growth and trust in Nigeria’s industrial and corporate sectors.
