Workshop Advances Life-Saving Transparency in Mine and Cluster Munition Reporting.

In a powerful stride toward global accountability and humanitarian progress, international experts have concluded a high-impact workshop focused on Article 7 transparency reporting under the Mine Ban Treaty and Convention on Cluster Munitions.

The workshop brought together reporting teams from across affected regions to sharpen their ability to collect, analyze, and submit standardized data — a critical part of monitoring mine clearance, stockpile destruction, and victim assistance.

Through hands-on simulations and real-world scenarios, participants worked through a structured six-step reporting process. The training emphasized that accurate, timely reporting isn’t just a bureaucratic task — it saves lives.

“When countries report accurately on mine clearance and victim assistance, resources reach the right places,” said one of the facilitators. “This transparency is vital to ensuring that no one is left behind in post-conflict recovery.”

The event underscored the ongoing commitment of States Parties to uphold humanitarian principles and reinforce the norm against indiscriminate weapons. It also highlighted the essential roles of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL), Cluster Munition Coalition (CMC), and IANSAWNN in supporting countries through the process.

Organizers extended gratitude to all participants and partners, reaffirming that collaboration and transparency are the keys to a safer, mine-free world.
