We are not Recruiting It’s Fake News and Scam. Foreign Affairs Ministry Warns. By Raymond Enoch

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong disclaimer against a fraudulent recruitment scheme falsely claiming to offer job opportunities within the Ministry. The fake advertisement, which has been widely circulated online and across other channels, bears the forged signature of the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and invites unsuspecting applicants to submit job applications.

In a press release numbered MFA/PR/2025/33, the Ministry firmly disassociated itself from the deceptive notice, describing it as “misleading and malicious.” According to the statement, the Ministry does not conduct direct recruitment and emphasized that all employment into the Nigerian Foreign Service is exclusively handled by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not request or accept payments for job applications or appointments,” the statement reiterated, urging the public to remain alert and avoid any engagement with such scams.

Spokesperson Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to transparency and integrity, stating that it will continue to protect public interest and uphold lawful processes. He encouraged Nigerians to verify any job-related information through official government channels and to report suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.

This warning comes amidst a growing trend of online employment scams targeting job seekers across the country. The Ministry has called on citizens to remain vigilant and not fall victim to these criminal enterprises.

For official information, members of the public are urged to consult the Ministry’s website or contact verified government platforms
