The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has extended warm Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslim journalists and the wider Muslim community across Nigeria, calling on all to uphold the values of unity, patience, and integrity.

In a statement signed by the NUJ FCT Council Jide Oyekunle, Comrade Grace Ike, the NUJ FCT Chairman, applauded Muslim faithful for their dedication, self-discipline, and spiritual commitment during the holy month of Ramadan.

She described the period as one for deep reflection, where values of love, sacrifice, and national cohesion were reinforced.

“As we mark the end of Ramadan, let us carry forward the spirit of patience, generosity, and compassion. These principles should guide us, not only as journalists but also in our roles as responsible citizens,” Comrade Ike urged.

She emphasized the critical role of journalists in promoting national unity and progress, highlighting their responsibility to foster peace, understanding, and truth within society. The NUJ FCT Chairman also expressed optimism that the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations would usher in a renewed sense of hope, blessings, and prosperity for all Nigerians.

“The NUJ FCT Council extends its best wishes to all Muslim faithful, praying for lasting peace, progress, and unity in our nation,” the statement concluded.

Eid-el-Fitr, the grand celebration marking the end of Ramadan, is a time for gratitude, communal bonding, and acts of charity. As the celebrations continue, the NUJ FCT Council reaffirms its commitment to professionalism in journalism and its dedication to contributing to a more united and peaceful Nigeria.
