NIMC Completes Upgrade of Diaspora NIN Enrolment Platform for Enhanced Service Delivery.

By Raymond Enoch

In a significant move to improve identity management services for Nigerians abroad, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the successful upgrade of its diaspora enrolment platform. The upgrade, aimed at ensuring a more secure, seamless, and efficient experience for users, marks a pivotal step in NIMC’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.

According to a statement signed by Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, the revamped platform will provide robust and effective National Identification Number (NIN) services to Nigerians residing in the Diaspora. The commission confirmed that the upgrade has been completed and is now live.

“This upgrade is a critical step forward in our mission to deliver secure and efficient NIN services to Nigerians across the globe,” the statement reads. “It will ensure smoother enrolment, improved data protection, and faster processing times.”

To facilitate the transition, all Diaspora Front-End Partners (FEPs) have been onboarded onto the new system and have undergone intensive training to ensure full compliance and operational readiness. NIMC has mandated that all diaspora FEPs activate their enrolment licenses on the upgraded platform within 48 hours.

Meanwhile, Nigerians abroad can now access NIN enrolment services through any compliant FEPs in their respective locations. The Commission has also expressed apologies for any inconvenience caused during the system upgrade and urged diaspora applicants facing technical difficulties to contact the dedicated support team via nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng for prompt resolution.

In addition, the Commission reiterated that NIN enrolment is ongoing at all designated centres within Nigeria. Applicants can find their nearest centres through the NIMC website at www.nimc.gov.ng.

NIMC also encouraged NIN holders to take advantage of the NIMC NINAuth App, available on both iOS and Google Play Store. The app allows users to verify their NINs, manage access to their personal data, and enjoy secure identity verification services on the go.

Nigerians, whether at home or abroad, can also modify their NIN data using the self-service portal: https://selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng.

This upgrade underscores NIMC’s commitment to enhancing digital identity infrastructure and ensuring that all Nigerians, regardless of their location, have access to reliable and secure identification services.
