In a bold move to reimagine public service delivery across Africa and beyond, Nigeria will host the inaugural International Civil Service Conference (ICSC) as the flagship event of the 2025 Civil Service Week. The announcement was made today by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni.
Slated for June 25–26, 2025, in Abuja, the landmark conference—under the theme “Rejuvenate, Innovate & Accelerate!”—will gather over 5,000 delegates, including policymakers, reform experts, and government officials from countries such as the UK, Azerbaijan, Singapore, and Ghana.
“This is more than a conference; it’s a signal of Nigeria’s readiness to lead in reshaping governance in the 21st century,” said Mrs. Walson-Jack.
Key highlights of the two-day summit include:
Keynote addresses from global leaders in civil service reform,
Innovation roundtables focused on digital governance and citizen-first service delivery,
A dedicated platform for young public servants
100+ exhibitions showcasing innovations from public and private sectors
An official MOU signing ceremony to strengthen international cooperation
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is scheduled to formally open the event at Eagle Square on June 25.
The ICSC is aligned with Nigeria’s Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP25) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063, reinforcing the country’s role in shaping a responsive, technology-driven civil service landscape.
The Head of Service also issued a public call for sponsorship, encouraging private sector stakeholders to partner with government in driving national transformation.
