In a bold step toward reernergizing the nation’s work culture, the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), Abuja, concluded a transformative five-day course on Work Ethics and Organizational Performance, equipping a cross-section of 59 personnel from the military, paramilitary, and civil service with tools to drive excellence, accountability, and professionalism in the public sector.

The course, which ran from August 25 to 29, 2025, was officially declared closed on Friday by the Director General of NARC, Maj Gen J.G.K. Myam (Rtd), who also presented certificates to the graduating participants alongside the course coordinator, Brig Gen F.C. Eze (Rtd).

Delivering the inaugural address at the commencement of the course, Brig Gen Eze underscored the critical need for a workforce that is not only competent but anchored in sound ethical values. “We are building a future-ready service,” he said, “where productivity, discipline, and operational efficiency are non-negotiable.”

Throughout the intensive sessions, participants engaged in dynamic workshops, case studies, and real-life scenarios that highlighted the practical importance of teamwork, ethical leadership, and performance-driven culture in the workplace. The course content was aligned with international standards and tailored to address local organizational challenges.

Participants described the experience as eye-opening and enriching, noting that the strategies learned would be immediately applicable in enhancing their respective agencies’ effectiveness.

In his closing remarks, Maj Gen Myam commended the participants for their commitment and emphasized the urgent need to translate knowledge into impact. “The true value of this course lies not in the certificates you hold, but in the change you lead when you return to your duty posts,” he charged.

The course marks yet another strategic stride by the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in promoting a culture of integrity and efficiency across government institutions. With Nigeria’s public service increasingly under pressure to deliver results, initiatives like this point to a future where ethics and excellence go hand-in-hand.
