The President of the ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, has met with the Board Members of TradeMark Africa (TMA) in Abuja, Nigeria, to assess the progress of their ongoing collaboration.

The meeting brought together key figures, including TMA’s Board Chairman and former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, H.E. Hailemariam Desalegn Boshe.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the advancements made in the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between ECOWAS and TMA. This partnership is pivotal in furthering intra-African trade, a key goal in driving Africa’s economic growth and integration.

TradeMark Africa, a prominent African Aid-for-Trade organization, has long been dedicated to fostering trade within the continent and expanding Africa’s presence in the global trade arena. Through its extensive funding partnerships with global entities like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the EU, the UK, and the USA, TMA continues to play a significant role in supporting Africa’s trade development.

As the meeting concluded, both parties expressed commitment to strengthening their efforts, with a focus on ensuring that Africa’s trade potential is fully realized. The partnership, which thrives on shared goals of economic integration and sustainable growth, is a critical step towards realizing the vision of a more connected and economically empowered African continent.
