Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Tugga Pledges World-Class Experience at WPRF 2026 in Abuja, Nigeria.

Nigeria is poised to take centre stage on the global communications map as it prepares to host the prestigious World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in Abuja in November 2026. The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, OON, has pledged the country’s full commitment to delivering a historic and impactful global event.
Delivering the Minister’s goodwill message on his behalf at the formal unveiling ceremony of the WPRF—held on Monday at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja—Mr. Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Spokesperson of the Ministry, described the event as “a powerful testament to Nigeria’s growing stature on the world stage.”
The Minister, who is currently on official assignment abroad, extended heartfelt congratulations to the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for securing the hosting rights of one of the world’s foremost gatherings of communication and public relations leaders.
“We extend a warm and enthusiastic hand of fellowship to the global communication community,” the message read. “Indeed, the choice of Abuja as the host city reflects international recognition of our vibrant democracy, dynamic economy, and unwavering commitment to open and constructive dialogue.”
The World Public Relations Forum is widely regarded as a leading global platform that brings together thought leaders, practitioners, scholars, and policymakers to explore the evolving landscape of strategic communication in an increasingly interconnected world.
Underscoring the strategic value of the event, the Minister emphasized that WPRF 2026 aligns seamlessly with Nigeria’s foreign policy priorities, particularly the current administration’s 4Ds strategy — Demography, Democracy, Development, and Diaspora.
“Strategic communication has never been more critical. It is the foundation of mutual understanding, the engine of economic diplomacy, and a vital instrument for shaping a collaborative global future,” Ebienfa noted.
The Minister also outlined Nigeria’s vision for the forum as an opportunity to showcase African excellence, strengthen international partnerships, and promote authentic narratives from the continent. Participants will experience first-hand Nigeria’s world-class infrastructure, cultural richness, and renowned hospitality.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he assured, is working closely with NIPR and other relevant stakeholders to guarantee a seamless, secure, and memorable experience for all international and local participants. This includes streamlined visa processing through Nigerian missions abroad.
