ECOWAS President Dr. Omar Alieu Touray Celebrates Cabo Verde’s 50 Years of Independence.

The President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), His Excellency Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, has extended warm congratulations to the Republic of Cabo Verde as the island nation celebrates its 50th Independence Anniversary.

In a message of goodwill, Dr. Touray lauded Cabo Verde’s remarkable journey since gaining independence in 1975, highlighting its unwavering commitment to democratic values, good governance, and regional cooperation.

“On behalf of the ECOWAS Commission and the entire ECOWAS Community, I extend heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Cabo Verde on this golden jubilee of independence,” Dr. Touray stated.

Cabo Verde, a founding member of ECOWAS, has played a significant role in promoting peace, stability, and integration within the West African sub-region. Dr. Touray praised the country’s steadfast participation in ECOWAS initiatives and its exemplary leadership in advancing sustainable development and regional unity.
