ECOWAS Observation Mission Strengthens Ties in Guinea Ahead of Referendum.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) continues to bolster democratic processes in the region through its observation missions aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability, and credibility. These missions build public trust by closely monitoring compliance with ECOWAS protocols and standards, reinforcing peace, stability, and good governance across West Africa.
In line with this mandate, the ECOWAS Technical Observation Mission to Guinea’s Constitutional Referendum today paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah in Conakry. The delegation was led by His Excellency Louis-Blaise Aka-Brou, ECOWAS Resident Representative in Guinea, and included Mr. Serigne Mamadou Ka, Acting Head of the Electoral Assistance Division, along with other technical experts from the ECOWAS Commission.
The meeting underscored ECOWAS’s commitment to supporting Guinea’s democratic journey by assessing the referendum’s compliance with regional standards and protocols. The observers are expected to provide detailed recommendations to strengthen Guinea’s institutions and promote a credible electoral environment.
As ECOWAS continues its mission, it reaffirms its pivotal role in safeguarding regional peace and fostering integration through good governance and democratic legitimacy.
