Driving Sierra Leone Forward, Shalam Transportation & Logistics Launches Bold Investment Drive to Revolutionize Industrial Transport.
By Raymond Enoch.
In a bold move set to reshape Sierra Leone’s industrial landscape, local entrepreneur Lamin M. Kamara has officially launched Shalam Transportation & Logistics, a pioneering startup designed to close a critical gap in the country’s mining and construction sectors. With ambitions to become a national leader in heavy equipment and transport logistics, Shalam is actively seeking strategic investors and development partners to fund its growth.
As Sierra Leone’s economy shows promising signs of stabilization and expansion—particularly in the mining, infrastructure, and agriculture sectors—the need for reliable, large-scale transportation and heavy machinery support has never been more urgent. Shalam aims to meet this demand head-on.
“Shalam is more than a transport company—it’s a vehicle for national development,” said Kamara at the company’s soft launch event in Freetown. “Sierra Leone’s industries are expanding, but without modern logistics and machinery infrastructure, we cannot fully realize our potential. We are building this company to meet that need—and we’re inviting strategic partners to join us at the ground floor.”
Currently in its pre-operational phase, Shalam is launching a capital campaign to secure the resources needed for market entry and operational readiness. The startup’s funding goals are focused on acquiring a fleet of 60–65 seater buses, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and essential construction machinery; recruiting and training personnel, including drivers, logistics coordinators, and technical support staff; establishing a central depot and operational base to serve as the company’s logistics hub; securing licenses and compliance certifications with national transport and mining authorities; and deploying modern branding, tech systems, and business development tools.
With this foundation, Shalam aims to offer scalable, contract-ready logistics solutions capable of servicing mining operations, construction firms, roadworks, and agricultural transport across the country. Kamara believes the company will become a key player in delivering the backbone infrastructure needed to support Sierra Leone’s long-term economic ambitions.
Kamara is extending a strong call to action for investors from across the globe—including diaspora investors, impact-driven financiers, equipment suppliers, and infrastructure funds—to be part of what he describes as a high-potential, low-competition frontier. “This is the right time to invest in Sierra Leone,” he emphasized. “The country is stabilizing, industries are growing, and the next big leap will come from logistics. We’re building something that will not only be profitable—but transformational.”
Investment opportunities include equity participation, equipment leasing partnerships, government procurement contracts, and development grants. The company is also exploring collaborations with development finance institutions and international aid organizations focused on infrastructure and economic empowerment.
Founded in 2025 by Lamin M. With a focus on innovation, workforce development, and infrastructure enhancement, Shalam seeks to become a cornerstone of Sierra Leone’s economic growth story.
As the company embarks on its journey, one message stands clear: Shalam isn’t just launching a business—it’s launching a movement.
