In a significant stride toward fostering innovation and economic transformation in Taraba State, Dr. Yushau Sallau has been officially inaugurated as a Member of the Taraba Bioentrepreneurship Innovation and Solutions Agency (TASBISA)—an initiative spearheaded by Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State.

The inauguration, which took place on Monday in Jalingo, also witnessed the formal constitution of the Post-TARAVEST Summit Committee—two landmark developments aimed at reshaping the state’s economic architecture through bio-entrepreneurship and inclusive innovation.
Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Dr. Sallau described his appointment as “a call to service,” vowing to use the platform to empower youths, support vulnerable women, and uplift the less privileged across the state.
“This is more than an appointment; it’s an opportunity to bring real solutions to real people,” Dr. Sallau said. “We are committed to creating employment, fostering innovation, and ensuring that sustainable development reaches every corner of Taraba State.”
TASBISA, a brainchild of the Taraba State Government, is designed to harness the vast natural and human resources of the state, converting them into viable economic solutions through research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The agency is also tasked with driving job creation and positioning Taraba as a key player in the emerging bioeconomy space.
Governor Agbu Kefas, who personally presided over the inauguration, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to making Taraba a center of innovation, job creation, and sustainable economic development.
“Our administration has carefully steered the course of development toward a legacy of innovation, environmental stewardship, and wealth creation. Today’s inauguration marks a critical step forward,” the governor said.
The Post-TARAVEST Summit Committee, also inaugurated at the event, will be responsible for implementing the resolutions of the recently held TARAVEST Investment Summit. The committee’s work is expected to solidify the economic roadmap designed during the summit and convert policy discussions into tangible community impact.
Dr. Sallau called on the public to support the vision of the agency and the broader goals of the administration.
“We cannot do this alone. I humbly solicit the prayers, encouragement, and support of all well-meaning Tarabans as we embark on this journey of transformation,” he said.
As Taraba State continues its march toward innovation-led development, stakeholders across sectors have lauded the creation of TASBISA and the caliber of professionals appointed to its board, expressing optimism that the initiative will spur long-term socio-economic growth.
